As the first Custom baritone saxophone introduced to the Yamaha lineup, the YBS-82 brings forward a new standard of baritone saxophone design after years of research and development. The custom C1 neck is included. It has a good response in producing sound, which enables the player to control the sound without losing the ""core"" of the sound. The post-to-rib construction adds moderate resistance and makes the instrument sound as you blow into it. Mother-of-pearl key buttons improve playability by making it easier to hold with a soft but not slippery surface. The left-hand seesaw key has been designed to increase playability as well as provide a more comfortable feel. Craftsmen shape the bell from a sheet of brass with a hammer. This adds unity to the body and makes the intonation in the middle to lower range smoother. It also has a solid tone. Then, an improved mechanism from low B-C# connection ensures the consistent closing of the low C# key and promotes a clear response from notes in the low range of the instrument.
