At Schmitt Music, we understand that selecting the perfect instrument is a personal experience that requires time and careful consideration. That's why we offer both in-store and out-of-store trials to help you make the best choice.
How It Works
- Selection: After working with one of our specialists and narrowing down your selection of instruments and bows, we'll prepare your choices for you to take home. This allows you to bring them to a lesson, play in an orchestra or ensemble, test them in a large venue, and get to know each instrument thoroughly. We will ship up to two instruments and two bows.
- Trial Period: You will have 7 days from the date of delivery or the day you take the instruments home to try your selections.
- Request a Trial: Fill out the contact form to request a trial. We will respond to your inquiry and confirm your selections.
- Trial Agreement: We require a signed instrument trial form and a credit card on file.
- End of Trial: By the 7th day of your trial, contact us to let us know which instruments and bows you will be returning. If you do not contact us on or before the end of your trial, you agree to purchase all items in your trial; we will charge your credit card for the remainder of the purchase price.
- Purchase Decision: I f you decide to make a purchase, we will complete the transaction using your credit card on file. If you decide to return your entire selection, you will only be responsible for the cost of return shipping.
- Liability: You are liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged merchandise from the time of delivery until the merchandise is delivered back to our store.
- Travel with Instruments: Please discuss any travel plans with the shop before receiving the instruments to ensure proper arrangements can be made.
- Instrument Care: We expect to receive the returned instrument in its original condition. Never take the instrument to a luthier outside our facility during the trial period. Any adjustments must be arranged through the Paul A Schmitt Violin Shop. In the event that an instrument is repaired or adjusted without our consent, the instrument shall be deemed damaged, and you will be charged for necessary repairs.
Additional Information
Must be 18 years of age or older to set up a trial.
All shipments require an adult signature on delivery.
Remove all rings, watches, and other jewelry before assembling or playing instruments.
Trials are complimentary, but customers are responsible for any return shipping charges, which will be charged to the credit card on file.
