About the Shop

Do I need to make an appointment?

You are certainly welcome to browse The Sax Shop anytime our store is open. To get the best experience in finding the right gear, we encourage you to make an appointment, so we can schedule you with a Saxophone specialist.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Plan to bring your personal mouthpiece, reeds and instrument if possible. It is best to try out new saxophones with the mouthpiece and reeds you are most comfortable with, and have your instrument for comparison. If it is just not possible for you to bring at least your mouthpiece and reeds, we can set you up with items from the Sax Shop.

Do you offer instrument trials?

We offer in-store and in-home instrument trials, shipped nationwide! Contact us to arrange your trial.

Policies and Processes

Should I clean my trial mouthpiece before I send it back?

No. We have a mouthpiece cleaning and sanitization regimen we go through once a piece has been returned from a trial. Some of our handmade hard rubber mouthpieces can be sensitive to alcohol-based cleaning products, so we prefer to clean everything that is returned.

Do you offer financing?

Yes! We offer several great options to fit everyone’s needs. Contact us for more information.

Do you buy used instruments?

While we don't purchase used instruments, we do sell used professional saxophones and mouthpieces on consignment on a case-by-case basis.
