At Schmitt Music, we understand that selecting the perfect clarinet is a personal experience that requires time and careful consideration. That's why we offer both in-store and out-of-store trials to help you make the best choice.
How It Works
- Selection and Shipping: We will ship up to 3 clarinets to your home, allowing you to compare them to your current equipment, bring them to a lesson, and get to know each item thoroughly.
- Trial Period: You will have 7 days from the date of delivery to try your selections.
- Request a Trial: Fill out the contact form to request a trial. We will respond to your inquiry and confirm your selections.
- Deposit and Agreement: We require a signed instrument trial form, a credit card on file, and a refundable 10% deposit for trials. Mouthpieces and accessory items must be purchased at the time of trial, with the purchase price fully refundable if returned.
- Accessories: Do not use the accessories included in the case(s) during your trial. These items (such as swabs, cork grease, and mouthpieces) are yours to use if you purchase the instrument. Returning used accessories or not returning accessories can incur a $25.00 replacement item charge.
- Instrument Care: Never take the instrument to a repair technician during the trial. Any adjustments must be arranged through Schmitt Music. In the event that an instrument is repaired or adjusted without our consent, the instrument shall be deemed damaged, and you will be charged for necessary repairs.
- End of Trial: By the 7th day of your trial, contact us to let us know which instruments you will be returning. If you do not contact us on or before the end of your trial, you agree to purchase all items in your trial shipment; we will charge your credit card for the remainder of the purchase price.
- Return Shipping: A return shipping label and instructions for shipping your return will be included in your shipment.
- Purchase Decision: If you decide to make a purchase, we will apply your deposit toward the purchase price. If you decide to return your entire selection, we will refund your deposit less the cost of return shipping.
- Liability: You are liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged merchandise from the time of delivery until the merchandise is delivered back to our store.
- Late Policy: There is a $25/day fee for late returns outside of the 7-day postmark window. Instruments returned after 30 days are not returnable and will be returned to you with postage charged to the card on file.
- Travel with Instruments: Please discuss any travel plans with the shop before receiving the instruments to ensure proper arrangements can be made.
Additional Information
Must be 18 years of age or older to set up a trial.
All shipments require an adult signature on delivery.
Remove all rings, watches, and other jewelry before assembling or playing instruments.
Trials are complimentary, but customers are responsible for any return shipping charges, which will be charged to the credit card on file.
