The Eastman 315 bass is an exclusive model ordered by Schmitt Music and crafted by Eastman Strings. These basses are among the most popular instruments in our shop and are one of the best options for advancing bass players.
Both the back and top of this bass are hand-carved and sourced from European tonewoods. To add more durability to these basses, the ribs are designed with laminate, making them a great option for gigging musicians. The beautiful brown-reddish spirit varnish of this bass distinguishes it from the other 300 series of Eastman.
The Paul A Schmitt Violin Shop holds a high standard level of setup that guarantees great playability and tone for these instruments.
The basses come in a Gamba pattern and are set up with Helicore strings. The Eastman Bass C Extension has been designed in close collaboration with Lisa Gass of Los Angeles Bass Works. The extension allows for low notes to be opened or closed in multiple configurations. Additionally, the extension is fully adjustable, allowing the player to dial in the exact pitch for each low note.
