Designed with trombone virtuoso Ian Bousfield the YSL-681B was designed to provide a modern orchestral straight tenor experience.  Featuring an 8 1/2" gold brass bell, standard yellow brass tuning slide and .547" bore handslide with yellow brass outer tubes and yellow brass crook, the 681B provides echos of the classic 8H-type straight large bore tenor response and sound concept.

This YSL-681B is in excellent condition.  Outside of a few small spots of acid bleed on the bell the lacquer is in 95+% condition, with just a few very small scratches; the overall instrument is ding and dent free.  The handslide is a 9+/10 with no signs of redrot.

This is a great-playing straight large bore tenor.  It is a relatively heavy instrument and, combined with the  gold brass bell, has wonderful weight and power to it's sound and response.  It plays fantastically on straight-tenor appropriate orchestral repertoire, with a broad, projecting and stable timbre,  but if pushed it can have a lot of power and sizzle for latin/commercial work, or have a very plush warmth for small-group settings.

Comes with original case and Griego CS1 mouthpiece.
