1964 Olds O20 Valve/Slide Trombone.

Built in Fullerton, CA this O20 features an 8" yellow brass bell, reverse yellow brass tuning slide, yellow brass valve section and handslide with nickel silver outer tubes and crook; the valve section is a .515" bore (measured at the 2nd valve) and the handslide is a .480"/.490" dual bore.

The condition of this trombone is good for it's age; there are typical scratches, removed dents/dings and light finish wear on the bell and the tuning slide and neckpipe have a fair amount of lacquer wear.  The valve section has a small amount of lacquer wear, with evidence of redrot on the leadpipe; the handslide has a small amount of lacquer wear. Both the valve section and handslide performance are 9+/10.

This is a great playing valve trombone; the slightly larger-then-typical bore of the valve section opens up the sound and response in a lovely way, with a resonant timbre that balances brightness and core, and a very nice upper register.  The handslide feels like a .480"/.490" bore, with some added resistance, but can be nicely efficient with the right approach.

Includes original woodshell case and Yamaha 48 mouthpiece.
