Consignment 1928 Conn 4H Small Bore Tenor Trombone
The Conn 4H was a staple pro-level small bore tenor from the 1910's through 1950's; featuring a .485" bore handslide and 7" bell the 4H was renowned for it's depth of color and response.
This 4H is emblematic of the trombone designs of the 1920's; in comparison to it's later iterations this 1928 model is a bit heavier, with a classic media-blasted silver plated finish and inner bell gold wash. It has a slide lock but a compression fit handslide receiver; the handslide is an 8.5/10 with nominal plating wear on the inner handslide tubes.
This 4H is in very good shape for it's age; it has a few dings on the bell and tuning slide, with the plating at 95%. It has a compact and warm sound but lights up at upper dynamics and could be a versatile instrument for a player looking for a classic vintage sound, modern lead horn or even small group trombone.
Comes with case and mouthpiece.
