The Drawn Tonehole Brögger Flute is the latest addition to the Brannen-Cooper® lineup, featuring our signature Brögger Mekanik, the most highly regarded pinless mechanism on the market today! Flutists immediately appreciate the smooth, responsive key action, offering exceptional playability.
Unlike our Soldered Tonehole Flute, where toneholes are individually cut and precision-soldered onto the body tubing, the Drawn Tonehole Flute is crafted by drawing up the metal from the body tubing itself. This innovative technique reduces both labor and material costs, allowing us to offer a handmade, professional-grade flute at an excellent price.
More About the Brögger Mekanik
Designed by Johan Brögger, this revolutionary pinless mechanism addresses key issues found in traditional Boehm System flutes:
✔ Eliminates misadjustments between certain keys (D to F#, E to F#, A to Bb).
✔ Prevents binding between the G and Bb keys on inline flutes.
✔ Enhances durability with full-size back connectors for a quieter, smoother mechanism.
Key benefits of the Brögger Mekanik:
- Custom spring tension: Each key's spring can be individually adjusted to match a player's unique touch.
- Greater stability & less maintenance: The adjustments remain stable, reducing upkeep over time.
- Increased strength: The robust mechanism significantly minimizes damage in case of an accident.
With unlimited Brannen-Cooper® and Lafin Headjoint options, paired with select flute configurations and headjoint exchanges, this model offers professional quality at an accessible price point.
Brannen-Cooper® Headjoints
Brannen-Cooper® Headjoints are designed in three distinct styles, based on the research and designs of Albert Cooper, the late Vice President Emeritus.
- Epoch: Our most projecting, responsive headjoint with the least resistance of the three styles.
- Modern Cooper: Inspired by Albert Cooper’s popular design, this headjoint balances projection, responsiveness, and a wide range of tonal colors.
- Modified Cooper: A flexible yet stable headjoint that produces a rich, full sound with slightly more resistance than the Modern Cooper.
Lafin Headjoints
Authentic Lafin Headjoints—crafted under the guidance of J. Rainer Lafin—are also available. These headjoints feature the signature Adler Wings for enhanced response and tonal flexibility. Like Brannen-Cooper® Headjoints, Lafin models share Albert Cooper’s influence but reflect Lafin’s ongoing innovation in design.
