Mark O'Brien, Principle Bass Clarinetist for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, started the day with an amazing performance of Prelude for Bass Clarinet by Ruth Gipps; a nod to the wonderful legacy of CBSO alumni Gipps.
O'Brien performed on one of our Firebird bass clarinets, one of the remaining few in the states with a fully wooden bell instead of the new composite bass clarinet bell.
